Pigsqueak
Pigsqueak, or Bergenia cordifolia. These leaves will squeak like a pig if you rub them. Picture taken May 25, 2010.
Bergenia cordifolia is an obsolete synonym for this plant, more correctly it is Bergenia crassifolia.

Climbing Hydrangea
This vine is Climbing Hydrangea (Hydrangea anomala subsp. petiolaris). Pictures taken May 16, 2010.
This is sometimes named Hydrangea petiolaris, it is probably more correct to name it a subspecies of H. anomala:
Our native hydrangea is Hydrangea arborescens, it is a shrub, not a vine.
