 This is Blood Flower (Asclepias curassavica 'Silky Deep Red').  Asclepias means it is one of the milkweeds, and the flower has the familiar unique structure of the milkweeds.  Pictures taken July 27, 2009.

 Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) 'Toucan Fuchsia'. This is the same species as the purslane in everyone's garden in the summer. The weed purslane has tiny yellow flowers, this Toucan Fuchsia purslane cultivar has much larger violet-red flowers
