Orange sulphur butterfly on Jupiter's Beard

This male orange sulphur butterfly (Colias eurytheme) is on a white cultivar of Jupiter's Beard (Centranthus ruber 'Snow Cloud'). The Colias eurytheme caterpillars can be a problem in alfalfa fields. Picture taken September 3, 2010.

    Could also be a Clouded Sulphur butterfly (Colias philodice). The two species of butterflies look very much alike.
