On display at Purdue Horticulture Gardens, these are familiar vegetables developed for the eye. This is July, as Brassicas are typically cool-season plants it should keep growing into fall, with added color as the days go by.

Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) 'Toucan Fuchsia'. This is the same species as the purslane in everyone's garden in the summer. The weed purslane has tiny yellow flowers, this Toucan Fuchsia purslane cultivar has much larger violet-red flowers
The first two pictures are at Purdue Horticulture Gardens, July 27 and July 21, 2009. The third picture is of the same kind of ornamental purslane. It's close by, in a planter between Stewart Center and the Union building, July 20. 2009. The other plant with the purple foliage is ornamental pepper.
Alocasia and Begonia share a pot. New Guinea Impatiens is supposed to be in the mix but I don't see it. Alocasia 'Black Stem' and Dragon Wing Pink Begonia hybrid, one of the angelwing begonias. Picture taken July 20, 2009.
A recurrent subject of Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings was Datura, these paintings are commonly described as jimson weed which would be Datura stramonium but to me the leaves have more the look of Datura metel.
