The Musa basjoo banana was just today taken inside. Here is a picture of it a few days ago, November 2, 2009. It is tough enough to stand a few days of Indiana November. Notice the ensete had been taken away before this.

Strangely enough plant hardiness Zone 5a is directly south of Lafayette and Zone 5b is north. Zone 5a is rated slightly more severe cold weather than 5b. There probably isn't a whole lot of difference this close to Lafayette though.
