Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) 'Toucan Fuchsia'. This is the same species as the purslane in everyone's garden in the summer. The weed purslane has tiny yellow flowers, this Toucan Fuchsia purslane cultivar has much larger violet-red flowersThe first two pictures are at Purdue Horticulture Gardens, July 27 and July 21, 2009. The third picture is of the same kind of ornamental purslane. It's close by, in a planter between Stewart Center and the Union building, July 20. 2009. The other plant with the purple foliage is ornamental pepper.
